We are excited to announce this year's honorees for our 17th Annual Founders' Day: Ernie Barbeau and Allie Goodman!Kennedy Award: Ernie BarbeauErnie Barbeau has held just about every leadership position in the neighborhood as past president of the Kennedy Heights Community Council, board member of the Kennedy Heights Development Corporation and key leader in the development of the Kennedy Heights Cultural Campus, and now as community historian. Ernie and his wife Judy were founders of the Arts Center, and continue to be active supporters because its mission is important to them, as well as the commitment to diversity.Volunteer of the Year: Allison GoodmanAllison “Allie” Goodman has lived with her family in Kennedy Heights for 16 years. Allie is a preschool teacher and also PTO President at Pleasant Ridge Montessori. During 2020, Allie volunteered 3 days a week at Woodford Academy in Kennedy Heights, assisting with the distribution of food, supplies and Creativity Kits to area families. She worked with KHAC staff to distribute nearly 3,000 kits with free art activities and supplies to keep local youth creatively engaged during the pandemic.Help us celebrate these leaders and all the ways that, together, we build community through the arts at our 17th Annual Founders' Day event on Sunday, June 13 from 2-4 pm at Kennedy Heights Arts Center (the mansion), 6546 Montgomery Road.At 2:00 pm, join us for a curator-led tour of our new outdoor exhibit.
